I noticed a strange noise in the car today. It's very quiet, and I can't hear it with the radio up or the air turned all the way on. Also, I can't hear it with the windows down.
But it sounds like a humming (almost like the sound the blower motor would make if it was going bad) coming from the front of the car. The sound seems to increase with speed but it almost inaudible again around 70-75 mph. It doesn't change with engine speed or gear changes and will make the noise in neutral.
If the car is rolling.. it's making the noise.
The car may have been doing this for awhile and I just didn't notice it, but I'm just wondering what it could be. I did a search and couldn't find anyone describing the same thing so I figured I'd ask.
Thanks!

I think I'm going to have those checked tomorrow...
Just seems more like a hum than a wheel bearing roar. But nonetheless, I'm going to have them checked.

I would bet it is the aspirator (air temp sensor) in the headliner. I had mine replaced under warranty. Sounds just like you described. Press in the headliner right in front of the driver position to see if the sounds changes.

How many miles do you have on your tires? Worn a/s tires will hum/roar, if you turn, it may stay silent until you straighten out. Might not be your bearings making the noise.

The sound goes completely silent when you turn the wheel to the left and comes back once you straighten the wheel back up.
We put it up on the rack at work and both bearings have a little play (the right far worse than the left). The right tire even appears to be cupping a bit and they both have about 8/32nds on them.
