Default E-cutout installed..........finally!

I bought this DMH 2 1/2" electric cut-out a few months ago and just had it sitting in the garage! After blowing apart my headers I figured I'd get this installed while that was getting fixed.

I kept all the stock exhaust and I'm very happy with my choice. It's loud when I want it to be and not when I don't!

I don't have any vids yet, I'll try to get some tomorrow and post them up.

And yes, its wired up. I just didn't get any pics of that.

like with his cutout he can hit a switch that opens it up and all the exhaust goes out there instead of out the mufflers. the cutout makes it loud and to the op nice job

^^what he said!

If you don't want the loud rumble all the time like you would get from changing your exhaust setup then this would be the way to go. Plus its a lot cheaper than doing a complete exhaust swap.

You "can" get some performance gains out of it, but it would need to be infront of the cat and some say infront of the resonator too. I put mine where I did mainly for the "noise".

do you think this would interfere with the powertrain warranty?

It shouldn't, since the powertrain doesn't cover the exhaust. Its just engine and transmission.

alright so i might be wrong but doesnt the exhaust create back pressure to the engine? and bypassing the exhaust would not create any back pressure towards the engine which would harm the engine. is this correct?

You are kinda correct. The exhaust does create back pressure, BUT a cutout doesn't let out so much that it would harm the engine.
