I know what sound you are referring to. We've owned a few of these cars. It's normal. Open and close the drivers door upon entering the car and it's there, through the speaker.

My car (08 GXP) does the same thing. It sounds as if its coming from the drivers side dash. The sound is like a noisy fan. The car has 54k miles and the noise just started a few months ago. Help !

Indoor Air Temperature Sensor most likely. You just have to remove the paneling below your steering wheel and the sensor is attached to the panel (look below your ignition and you'll see a small vent, that's where it's at). I couldn't find a replacement for mine anywhere online so I just took it apart and cleaned it really well and then lubed it up. The hum it makes is probably 10x quieter than it used to be.

Thanks for the quick reply. That's exactly where the noise is coming from so I think you hit the nail on the head. How do I remove that panel to access the sensor ?
