Default exhaust project

So while the car is parked for the winter I want to come up with the best exhaust for the GXP. I was going the magnaflow catback but after looking at our exhaust and having did custom exhaust with my old camaro and a S10 project this looks like a walk in the park. My idea is 3" right off the down pipe, no cat or resontor, use all stock hangers/brackets. The part I need the help on is the mufflers and tips. I have read most of the post on mufflers and watch the youtube clips but if anyone has any ideas that might be worth while let me know. For the exhaust tips I am also looking for ideas so post away.

That's the same setup I'm doing except I'm running single exhaust. Probably gonna use a Borla Muffler. SLP has a 3" to 2.5", if you go that route (any 3" to 2.5" muffler) I'll have spare MagnaFlow tips that will need to be stripped and polished that you can have.

JP I am definitely interested in the tips as I really do like the tips on the magnaflow systems.

AlabamaGuy did you just replace your mufflers with the spintecks?

i just dont see the magnaflow set being worth the price when you could probably have something custom done for around the same price, without having to hack and slash like i did ... if youre having trouble choosing mufflers and tips, search for silverados with the 5.3 on youtube, they have close to the same sound so you can get a rough idea of different mufflers or set ups

do tips under a few inches really change the exhaust sound ??

I'm perfectly happy with my pieced together 3" system, except it's too loud in the car. Of course, It's turned down under the trunk....

Is it not ridiculously poppy and obnoxious like it was on mine? At first it was cool but then the novelty began to wear off.

im gonna go with stock piping with my stock cat, res delete with a dynomax bullet in the resenators place, then take the stock mufflers off and put pipe there with some single tips from jones to fill the bumper. hoping it should sound good

Mine won't be finished until spring either...

DT headers
No Cat
No Res
Dynomax ultra-flow mufflers
Unknown tips

Everything will be 3 inch. I have a guy that is going to weld all the piping, not a problem at all with fitment. If the drone is too bad I was going to put a bullet in place of the res.

Also, open to tip suggestions.
