Oh yes, you do. I had to take the oil pan off of my car to retrieve a bolt we dropped into the engine during a rebuild. You have to drip the whole subframe and then it comes right out.

Just think of it as a time to BOND with your car.

Just make a afternoon out of it and enjoy the time under the car....

I do not believe so,

The only reason we had to replace mine was because we dropped the pan to get the bolt.

I did not have an issue with it leaking before or after the gasket replacement though. Pretty simple once you drop the subframe. Quite a few bolts holding the pan up though.

Mine leaks and has been for a while. The local stealership was suppsed to fix it twice. They slapped a gob of rtv sealant where it is leaking. So now I will fix it myself, that way I know its done rite. Thanks Jack Schitt!!! Its good to see factory trained techs are in the rigging business

Other than my dealership not being smart enough to fix my headlight issue I have never had an issue with them. Except once they didn't do my oil change as asked they put regular oil in it instead of Synthetic.

Dealer techs are not trained by the factory.

Just changed my oil and noticed that my oil pan gasket is leaking. I read that I'll have to drop the subframe. Can someone tell me what else is involved??? Do you have to remove the pass side axle? How far do you have to drop the subframe? What about the exhaust?Sorry for all the questions, just want to make sure that I can finish it once I start it.The pan looks pretty straight forward. I'm guessing the reason for dropping the sub frame is to get access to the oil pan bolts at the front of the engine.
