got lucky with the dealer

i have a 2007 grand prix gxp with 84,000 miles
well recently its been sucking up oil bad. about 2 quarts in a week i would assume after oil change
i took it to dealer and they called me and said that gm just released a bulletin regarding the ls4's and this issue. so im getting new lifters and valve covers for completely free. im not sure if this has anything to do with my powertrain warranty, but they made it sound like i got lucky

And that must be the fix which was due today (1st quarter of 2011).

I called my dealer last week about it. I haven't got a call back yet.

Sounds like I need to hear more about this... would you have to prove that it was burning or are they gonna do this with all of them?

i just told them i got only change a week ago and had to add 2 quarts, so just say something lol. and your welcome haha

So is this a recall for all the LS4's or just if your still under warranty.....my car burns a little less than 1qt. about every 3000 miles
