Gxp 9006 h.i.d's HELP!!!

I know there's probaly a thread on here somewhere but I couldn't find it:/ I just got my hids lows and fogs. I got the fogs working perfect(jus needed a bigger fuse 30A) but I cannot get my 9006 low beams to work. I have the relay but they just won't turn on and wen I had em goin a little they flickered. Really need some help on this I want these bad boys installed asap B-)

Reverse polarity, flip the plug to the ballast around.

Some guys will say yes and some guys will say no. With the 35w, you really don't "need" to have a relay. But some guys do it anyways for peace of mind. The cost of the relays provide cheap insurance. If you are using the 55w, yes you need the relay.

I'm running the 35 watts I jus don't get how to hook em up. Say I don't use the relay how would I go about hookin em up I'm not sure which plus they want me to switch around...sorry I'm a noob on electrical I just want to learn instead of takin it in

I was told the automatic lights may cause a issue?

Sadden Apr 11, 2011 05:23 PM

Yes daytime running lights will be very hard on your bulbs and ballasts.

Hids do NOT like being turned on and off repeatedly , search "disable drl" and theres a good thread on doing it on a gxp (as we dont have a fuse to pull).

Which kit are you using.

35watt 10,000K. Do me a favor if u can txt meE just so it'll make it easier haha

vroom_vroom Apr 11, 2011 07:31 PM

i have been running them in the gxp for 6mo with no problems just shut em off when you get in, did you hook up the polarity right on everything and did you hook up the lead plug to the oem harness, grounding issues, get the test light out its not that big of a deal to back trace just dont probe the bulb wires

just as a side note i had issues with mine not firing last year and it came out to be the relays that come with the ebay harness are shit, it was rusted out inside when i popped it open, buy a quality relay with the epoxy base not one that snaps together

christopher.lazaris Apr 11, 2011 08:09 PM

I'm a noob with electronics I have a 06 gxp and I don't know if I need the relay or not ... I kind of need step by step instructions:/

vroom_vroom Apr 11, 2011 08:30 PM

use it, unless you want to find out what a g wiring harness cost, its a 7.99 insurance policy its still light out ill go out and snap a few more pics

christopher.lazaris Apr 11, 2011 09:02 PM

Thank uuuuuu I have the relay harness idk wat the g wiring is

monte_with_a_LS4 Apr 11, 2011 09:08 PM

its not hard. when your installing them connect the plugs so that the color wires match up. then pull the fuse for your daytime running lights

Battle_Ravage Apr 12, 2011 11:41 AM

You can turn off auto-lights every time you get in the car, they don't come on until you take it outta Park. I always switch my fogs on. :thumb:
