Turning off DOD in 2006 Monte SS

Turning off DOD in 2006 Monte SS I was just about to pull the trigger on the Superchips Flashpaq, for the trans support, performance tunes, and the ability to turn DOD off. I thought I'd send an email to Superchips and make sure that it will do all of this for my 06 Monte SS. They responded and said the Flashpaq does NOT turn off DOD.
So then I looked at another Superchips tuner, this time the Cortex. Again I asked if it disabled DOD on the 06 Monte SS, and again they said no. I've searched the forum (a little), and i know you pontiac guys can disable DOD with the Cortex...but...
To anyone with my same car, what did you use to disable your DOD? Mine is irritatingly loud and gives the gas pedal a bad feel and a hesitation. I want it gone, but I also want to increase trans shift pressure and add a couple extra horsepower. I'm pretty much on a budget, so I'd like to do it all in one. Also don't have a laptop, so HPTuners is out. AND I'm in California, and sooner rather than later I'm going to have to start getting my car smogged. So I'd like a handheld.

the Diablosport Trinity can disable the DOD... and offers many more adjustable parameters than any of those others...
