Header questoin?
I was looking at the obx shorty headers for the gto and was wondering if they would fit. I was thinking that if we got a little creative with the routing for the back header piping it may work and if you were going to run a turbo you would have to have a custom crossover and down pipe anyway. Or how about the shorty headers for the 5.3 Tahoe/Yukon or block huggers for a ls1.
I know that DT is the only one that makes the specifically for the GP. What i'm trying to do is find an alternative as i think there price is way to high as i seen full length headers for the cts-v for less. The obx ss headers for the gto are only 299 and block huggers from 170. I don't see what the biggest problem is except the pluming there are no motor mounts to worry about. What i would like to know is if they would bolt up?
any ls1-6 or other cathedral port head header will bolt up to the heads. its the routing thatll be the issue. there was a gp i believe that had the prototype ls6 that was in an impala in it with a set of custom made headers on it.
I got a set of ls7 that ive been sitting on before thorley came out with there's. Looks like the firewall side will need major modification. Its almost not worth getting them Installed cause the price I've been qouted is just couple hundred shy of actually buying thorleys and having them Installed.
