GXP or Impala SS
TapShift.
Why not a LaCrosse Super? Shares Bilsteins with the GXP and it's classy. Impalas are by far the highest produced LS4 car, by over 30,000 I believe.

what about it? lol
If I could do it all over, I would not have bought an LS4 car, but that's just me.
If I had to buy an LS4 car, I'd try to find a LaX Super. Unique and classy at the same time, and will respond to the few mods we have in the same way as the others.
If you can't find one and gotta have 4 doors, then it depends on taste, I suppose. You want sporty and TAP, then go with the GXP. If you need rear seat space with head room and want anonymity, get an Impala.
IMHO, the Impala interior is much more plain, but looks slightly more "rich" in it's execution. The Pontiac, at least to me, is much more busy inside and visually exciting to look at, however, the controls look and feel cheap.
This is true, however, you can cheaply retrofit a Bose-equipped Impala SS with the newer 29-bit GMLAN Navigation radios, including the units that have XM Nav traffic. The Grand Prix uses older Class 2 architecture, so you're stuck with the earlier, more primitive hardware unless you go aftermarket.
Oh, and lastly is cost. GXPs tend to hold their value a bit better than Impalas, and thus, cost more. Impalas, as mentioned above, are much more common, and can often be found in the $10,000 - $13,000 range.

I prefer the look of the GXP slightly over the Impala SS and it doesn't look like a cop car. The GXP has different width wheels & tires so they can't be rotated front to back, so that's something to consider in making your choice.
I had a 2004 GP CompG and the G8 is so much better in many aspects. It doesn't have HUD or NAV but at least the trans will hold up to any additional power.

I have all the seats in now, and it's still lighter.
Y'all can argue all y'all want, the GXP isn't that much heavier than the MCSS, they're both smaller than the other two. My car is a little over 3400 with only carpet, interior panels, headliner, and spoiler removed, and the CF hood is either 15 or 25 lbs, I forget. I doubt it's the 3600 lbs everything says.
But back on topic, what's your budget for a newish car? Are you really set on an LS4?

i would get the gxp
the gxp has pretty good brakes , better shocks, hud ,g reader, lap timer, wider front rims to help torque steer and has alot more done to it to separate it from lesser Grand Prixs. such as front and rear bumper, fenders, sideskirts, spoiler and rims.
