Sawzall is right.
I'm thinking it would take a TON of fabrication to get the LS4/4T65 combo into an N-body. Maybe if the donor car were a manual and you kept the Getrag 5-speed, you'd have some room, but it's hard to say.
The question is, is your buddy willing to build an own a $15,000-$20,000 Alero that he might be able to sell for $8,000 when he gets tired of it?

Have your friend take out a tape measure. The LS4 accessory drive protrudes 23 3/8" from the bellhousing face. You can also check clearance between the transmission and driver side frame rail... you might be able to slide the drivetrain over slightly to get the needed clearance.
Generally speaking the GM FWD automatics are a tighter package (overall length side to side) than the FWD manual transmissions
Just remember, if it was easy everyone would have one.

Naah I'm not going to do that lol. I don't particularly like fwd, but i would lovve to see a big v8 inside a little alero. But I were going to do a swap, it wouldnt be on that car. Much rather have a fiero like the one above, that thing is badass
