I'll bite....

-2007 GXP
-Got it with 112k - currently at 121k
-unknown, will probably need one sooner than later (rev clunk and will miss 2nd on very rare occasion)
-None so far. Some jabronie cobbed a top post battery in it, so I need to fix that.
-Next car would honestly probably be one of these that I could park and tinker with. Maybe gut it and have a little fun.

190,000 miles here. The car has been pretty good overall. Yes I have had to replace the transmission as well lol.

Default New/used 2006 monte carlo ss

Hey Ls4 lovers,

I recently purchased a 2006 Monte Carlo SS(dream car), and it only has 15,000 miles on it!!!! I flew all the way to New Jersey just to test drive it. The dealer wanted $16,000 for it, but I talked him down to $12,500 with a 3yr/45,000 miles warranty on it. I have read 100's of the forums regarding the transmission and other common issues (thanks guys). The car is getting shipped to me tomorrow night. I just ordered the trans go kit off ebay. In the process of installing the kit, I will change the filter/screen and add a extra magnet to the pan. The trans cooler will be installed later on this week ( I'm a full time college student and full-time engineer). Im not planning on doing any crazy mods to it except for exhaust tips, air intake, and diablo tune.

I cant wait till this sexy bitch gets her!!!

Look into getting overkill pcm. The trans tune is much more in depth than a Diablo tuner can go

^X2 on the Overkill tune. I was lucky enough to get a in-car tune from him with my Monte. The trans responded really nice afterwards. You really notice it downshift faster compared to stock which is awesome. I disabled the DOD as well. Coming up on just about 3 years with his tune and it's been very good.

Thanks for the recommendations guys. Is there anything else I should do to extend the life of my tranny? Like I stated above, I'm planning on installing trans-go, magnets, trans cooler, and screen/filter. Don't worry I will drop the tranny pan, not flush.

Keeping the tranny cool is the key and not hammering on it.

Since you put it that way mel, I'm going to install the trans cooler this weekend. That's pretty awesome that you only have 7700 miles on your mc. I am going to try my best not to rack up so many miles on my car.

I far as the facebook comment goes, I do not believe someone has a MC with only 5500 miles on it. I looked for months before finding one in New jersey.

lol I still have stock mufflers, but I'm thinking about going with straight pipes. Do anyone know if straight pipes would void my warranty?

Yeah I figured. I have some aftermarket ones and am looking for some stock ones lol

The warranty question would be a question to call and ask the dealer.
