Default race predictions?
im trying to get up some extra coin for the utah salt flat races this fall. ($625) whats your thoughts on what the gxp will pull off for speeds? all the car has for performance parts is a fwi, dyno tuned, and a trans with a cooler? i have a 2.25 mile run from a hole shot. this could be the coolest thing ever or the longest walk home.............

Might smoke a lifter doing that high of an RPM for a sustained period. BUTTTT I've done superspeedway runs without issue.

ive gotten very close to the 140 mark and it still had more left. i couldnt tell you how far or long it took to reach that speed because i was paying attention to the road.

According to my buddy's GSX-R I got to 164 MPH, so.... I'll say close to the same.

Be careful, that's how Mix bent valved at high speeds. I believe he was at 158in 3rd for a while and ended up bending 8 valves.

Yup. Not sure why his valves floated but they did.

If it's typical stock GM valve springs, it's not surprising to see float and bent valves.


How many miles on your car?

A set of Comp Cams 980's will probably give you some peace of a mind, as well as a few more ponies if you've got anymore than 60,000 miles on it.
