Best Way to Clean Axle Grease So I finally got around to fixing my GXP yesterday. I had to replace my belt tensioner...the old one snapped in half. When If broke it fell into the axle tearing the boot off. This was one ugly, messy, frustrating, and time consuming job...but i saved $1400+ 
So today I have to put the brakes back together, put the serpentine belt on, and top off the transmission fluid. But before I do that I have to clean up all the grease that has been slung everywhere. What's the best way to clean this gunk up?? It's EVERYWHERE!

I'd try to wipe off as much as you can then blast it off with a **** load of brake clean. Maybe use some Purple Power (or your choice of degreaser)before the brake clean to try and break up the grease a bit.

Brake parts cleaner is awesome. It just broke that stuff down like it was nothing. Since I still have it in the air I guess I'll take the opportunity to paint my rusty rotors black and detail the other side too! I almost forgot the struts were yellow!
