Default I would like to take the time...

...to say how absolutely fantastic you can make a car look when you spend seven hours on it. In particular I finally broke down and got a headlight restore kit, and the difference is night and day.

Before

after

damn shame it's gonna rain in two days

I used Meguiar's all rim cleaner (the pink bottle), a small wheel brush I picked up at AutoZone and a lot of elbow grease. If the brush is small enough it'll fit in between the calipers up front and the wheel. I hosed mine down twice, they look better but the inside of the wheel is pitted bad. Afterwards I waxed the hell out of em lol

What brand headlight restoration kit? I need to do this as my headlights look terrible on the tops of them. I think using them as daytime running lights (AKA set to auto and always turned on) is a bad idea. Been doing that for 2 years and my lights look terrible IMO now.

I used the turtle wax kit, little ten dollar box. It takes a while, but its well worth it. I'm happy with the results- at least til tax time when I can get my ccfl's

Cheap grainy tooth paste works great too and a wash cloth, just be prepared to use some elbow grease

really simple and time consuming, but comes out great for only spend $1

Wet sand them down with 1000 then 1500. Re clear with a few coats. Allow dry time. Wet sand again with 1500 and polish with wax to new. Basically everything you would do for Nite Shades but skip the tint. All IMO. I'm actually sending all my lenses to Flip and my brake parts, rotors and wheels to Powder Pro in Chicago. I'll post pics in new thread when its all done.

Car looks good bro! Bought to winterize the GXP myself!

Why not just use a toothbrush?

When I do my brakes I was planning on sanding the calipers and bracket down and repainting them with some hardcore ceramic paint. I plan on keeping the red though. I'm also gonna see what I can do about the terrible pitting inside the rims when I do the brakes but I fear I may have to take em to a rim shop

Thanks for the compliment though! The color on this car really pops when its cleaned up. And its tons of fun to drive, I just wish the transmission didn't suck so hard. Still I'm proud to own a GXP
