abs and brake failure light?

abs and brake failure light? I was cruising around town couple days ago and for the first time in months I headed out to visit family in the country side.
I was doing a hundred km and saw a early light indicator saying red light ahead so I started slowing down. My brake peddle started to feel really hard to push down (first time ever).
So I decided to continue to press it down more and suddenly abs and brake light came on.
Funny thing though after thous lights come on the car starts acting normal again.
I just did a rotor and pad replacement myself a couple weeks back.
