Default SS Badge

Question for anyone that can please help me, i see a ton of people on this forum with the chevy badge removed from the front grill of the bumper and replaced with an SS which i think looks awesome!! How do i go about doing this to my car, and do I just buy the stock badge?

thanks so much !

You have to pry the bowtie logo off the stock grille I believe and then just stick the SS badge to the grille. You can get the badges off eBay, however I do believe there are two different sizes. The SS badges on the door are bigger than the SS badge on the trunk lid correct?

yes... you want to get the SS badge that's made for the doors.. that's the bigger one and the one you want for the grill...

I also did the same thing to my trunk lid... took the bowtie off and put the bigger SS badge on it instead...

all lettering was also removed from the trunk lid, so the only thing on it is the SS...

I got the door SS badges from my dealer - I think they were only like $10 or $12....

Part number for the door badges are 15211285. They list out about 22 bucks at any GM dealer. The smaller one for the trunk lid is 10336980, that one goes for about fifteen.

I removed both bow ties front and rear and use fishing line to remove the bow ties and alcohol to remove the remaining glue. I used the door SS ones and yes they are like $20.00 from the dealer or any autobody shop and ask for the AC delco units. I have the ralley stripes on my MCSS 07 and removing the rear one really makes a big difference. I am getting a SS badge for my 88 SS for the grill and I have the small red SS badge fron the S-10 badge on my 96 Impala SS may try the 2010 rs camaro red ss badge on the Impala SS. This is always a great mod to do to Chevys.

FYI - there's a mounting/alignment tab on the front grill badge mount that needs to be snipped off. It's soft plastic, so a sharp knife or sidecutters would work.

I took a look at the bow ties off my 07 SS and it looks like they use the same bow ties off the rear and front of the car. They just installed them with tape here are some picture of mine I don't remember cutting a pin but the puctures show that it could have been made that way before.
