Default RPM & Speed correlation

Can anyone tell me what speeds correlate to what RPM while cruising?

My tranny, which had been faulty for 45k before it finally went about 2 months ago, was replaced and now I feel as if the RPM's don't match the speed I'm driving. IIRC, cruising at 75mph has my tach showing over 2k, 80mph is close to 2400RPM.

Is that at all right? Maybe the car has been so wrong for so long that what's right doesn't feel it, but I'm wondering if the rebuild resulted in a different FDR.

Thanks

Sounds about right, at least with my Monte. When I data log for Lew, I generally cruise right around 70-75mph and the RPM's usually hang around 1900-2100

Thx. I'll log more definitive figures later to double-check.

Thanks Lew. I may be off a little here or there, too, due to the slight change in tire size with the winter set installed.
