GM claimed 6.6 second 0-60 times for the 3.6 liter Impala, so I'm guessing it should run somewhere around 14.7-15.2 in the quarter mile. Of course, manufacturers are pretty conservative in their performance estimates so you can probably knock .3 to.5 off both figures.
That makes it a reasonably quick large sedan.

I rented one a few months back and it felt ok, but it absolutely paled in comparison with my GXP. My wife actually destroyed me at a stoplight on the way back from the rental place lol. Biggest complaint power-wise was when passing, downshifts were very slow and you had to rev the hell out of it to get any power. Below about 4500rpms its really wimpy. Suspension absolutely SUCKS, too. No handling prowess whatsoever. I'd rather buy a *gasp* Fusion

300 hp yes, but not until 6500 rpm and torque is at 262 at 5300 rpm
in comparison for the LS4 its 303 hp stock(which no of our cars really are lol) at 5600 rpm, and 323 lb tq at 4400 rpm

I have a 2012 Impala LT as a long-term rental for a business trip I'm on. I wrote up my impressions in this thread at NAIOA. Short version: it's reasonably quick and the tranny is a godsend, but it's no SS.
