Default Bilstein Question

So I have been tracking down a noise https://ls1tech.com/forums/ls4-perfo...ard-bumps.html in the right front of my 08 GXP for quite some time now. Well I have replaced everything other than the strut itself, strut mounts, stabilizer links, etc.

My question is where is the best place today to get replacement Bilsteins? I know about allshock.com & eshocks.com, which have the best prices I could find so far. Are there any others?

Also which ones do you get now? I talk to a guy at allshock.com and he said that Bilstein has changed what they call these struts a few times over the last few years. On their site they say a HD is the replacement for our cars in stock form, and the Sport version is for lowered cars with a stiffer spring. But on other sites the comfort series is for our car in stock form, and the HD version is for lowered cars with a stiffer springs. Im confused.

I don't want a stiffer strut, I just want the closest replacement to what I have now. I have searched the whole damn internet and only can find older threads, and I am not sure if they still pertain to our cars.

The car in question is an 08 GXP.

Thanks guys.

I ordered mine through Summit, but I'm a supplier to them and I asked the buyer there who I deal with to get it done...but if you call them, Jegs, or Tire rack with the part numbers you should beable to order them, just have to shop it.

back in 07 when I bought my car, I called bilstein directly and spoke with someone who gave me the name of a big suspension distrobution company that was down the street from HQ in California, they were great guys to deal with.

I know the part numbers and stuff, I guess what I was asking was where is the best deals for them. Summit and Jegs are a rip off for Bilsteins I think. allshock.com has them for 171 per shock for the direct replacement for a GXP Bilstein, so I think I may just have to go that route.

Our stock replacement strut is the comfort and the HD is more for a lowered car

You know what is funny though, the guy from allshock.com said that Bilstein change the name of their shocks now, so on their site the HD is what is stock for our cars and the sport is the version for lowered cars. He said that it is hard to keep up with what they call their shocks these days. But I think I am just going to order them from allshocks.com, that guy knew what he was talking about and they are the cheapest I could find.
