Default LS4 Tune Up

I tried searching this subject, but with no luck. Has anyone done plugs/wires on their LS4? I'm sure someone has some advice. Can you rock these engines forward like the old 3800's? Any special tools involved? I plan on doing plugs and wires here in the near future.

I just did mine. I didn't bother with a strap and pulling the engine forward. I just took off the back side coils to give me room and went to town. It did take a bit of patience and about 45 minutes but it's not overly difficult.

Sign up on gmls4.com and order them from that site you get ngk plugs and wires. Actual wires are made for the ls 4 . The plugs are ngk tr6ix I think.

Winching the engine forward will give you about an inch of valuable space. Definitely need to pull the rear coil panel off. If you're looking to change the O2 sensor (before the cat), this would be the time to do it. I put stock acdelco iridium plugs and acdelco wires in mine and ended up going from 24mpg to 27.
