need help... Weire noise..
need help... Weire noise.. I bought a 07 Monte Carlo SS with 37K miles about 3mo ago from a mercedes dealer. The car was running great but it started with the trans problems but only every now and then. The trans would shift hard on slow take offs, but very inconsistent. Then about 3wks agoit started making a loud ticking noise and very rough idle and loss of power. The bought warranty for the car so I took it to a GM dealer and they said it was a lifter gone bad, so they replaced all of them and changed all fluids. They also looked at the trans and said it was fine.
Now its got a ticking noise again, but only when cold and for a few min only, not as loud but with loss of power and the traction control warning came out. After the engine is warm, noise goes away and all is good.
Any ideas on what this could be??
I am going to take it to the dealer but I'd like to have an idea as to what it is before taking it.
