Lifters & DOD A question for the experts here. I think I read in a previous thread that I can eliminate D.O.D. if I put all non-active lifters in. Is this correct? Any confirmation would be appreciated.
The reason I ask is because I heard a bit of a knocking sound last night when starting the car after the vehicle was sitting out in the cold for 9 hours. The sound went away after the car warmed up, so I'm assuming it was lifter noise.

Agreed, even with dod being disabled in my pcm I still get a little chatter on startup. Goes right away. And ypu need more than lifters, you'll need a non dod cam pushrods and non dod valley cover
I switched to mobil one 0w30. I live in bel air, md and we regularly get into the teens at night and its made a drastic difference at start up. The ticking last about 10 seconds and smoothes out.
