service battery charging system light... Started my car and all of a sudden the battery light is on and DIC says service battery charging system. I put a new battery in about 2 months ago. Any tips wat i can do to see wats wrong?

Also at idle, if i slowly rev through the rpms up to 2k, it sounds like almost a whine noise. Not real loud but i can hear it from inside the car with the radio off. Let me guess my alternator is dying..

Update. Started my car later on tonight to leave work...battery light was still on and still said service battery charging system. About a minute after drivingit turned off and didnt come back on once. Sensor?
