Default Anyone using Dot 3 or 4 syn. brake fluid?

I went to DOT 4 prestone synthetic on my Z06. A lot of guys did. I dont see why. Dot 4 is just one heat level higher. Better anti foaming and takes the heat better. Less fade. Or even DOT 3 synthetic. Did a search. I guess no one does brakes. My inner pads which always wear first are down to last 1/8" of an inch. Getting occasional squeal. Gonna get ZZP extended ss lines. Do I need extended on the rears as well? New Raybestos Advanced Technology rotors. They look factory. 13.2" diameter. High quality for the money. Used them tracking my Z06. So I swear by them. Couldn't warp them if I tried even repeated hard braking from 150-160 mph. I hate semi metallic pads and ceramic pads fade. I plan on more bite and performance. I'm a fairly high modder, mostly performance improvements. So any answers are appreciated. Hawk HPS street pads. I dont mind the dust and wiping my wheels.. but the pads stop like crazy nuts. Starting to feel more comfy playin' with this car as I wrench on it.

I got sidetracked replying yesterday lol, too many tabs open. Not sure about the rear but extends will work fine. Better to err on the side of more in the regard.

Factory rotors for gxps are 12.7 similar to C5 rotors just a diffrnt bolt pattern.

The squel I've come to find out happens when brake dust cakes in the cross drilled holes

Just use a center punch or small screwdriver

Thanks man, but my holes are perfectly clean. Inside and out. Took off a front wheel with a zenon trouble light. Cant find brake dust anywhere. I washed my brakes inside and out with a pressure The squeal is at low speed and only occasionally. I know the sound and its just the start of the pads starting to go. I know I got a couple months on em anyway. Yeah I don't have anything like that in my rotor holes. lol The inner pad squealer tab is super close to touching the rotor. So you mean just to on the safe side get extended SS brake lines front and rear? My Z06 rear ones were a little long. I juts zip tied them to the frame so they were secure. Shoot me another response pal to my comments. I know you wanna! Please Whats your take on brake fluid? I will do syn Dot3 or Dot 4. Shouldn't hurt. Worked fine on the Z06 with a similar brake system.
Yeah the raybestos Advanced Technology rotors are identical and made for the GXP just 1/2" bigger diameter. Hey 1/2" is half an inch!! LOL

Dot 4 will do great just make sure you get all that old dot 3 **** out as much as possible.

I'm not seeing these rotors you refer to online anywhere? All I see on rockauto is 12.7 and yea extended for the fronts for the rears like I said unsure of. However you cant go wrong with long lol.

thanks for the link That's a great deal you found there.

I'm just trying to lose rotational mass. Or else I'd be all over these

I understand your point. Still cast iron, gets very $$$$$ when you want materials other than cast iron on your brakes..buy yeah they are a hell of a rotor. My ole Z proved em. GXP childs play! LOL

My good friend is a delco rep, he recommemded those rotors for my Z06. I warped the factory ones doing some very spirited driving. These I put 7K miles on zero issues. Could be the pads, DOT 4 syn. fluid helped as well, all together. My buddy saw me brakes on a curve , he saw them glow red! Cooled off a good as new. I still call these budget but compared to factory they are economy exotic carbon ceramic rotors!Well beyond what I need for this car. LMAO

The only way to really know is to take it off and check for leaks and obvious easy compression of the piston independent of the spring.

Yeah I also read a much rougher ride than usual. Mine are all yellow. Probably Munroe. I know these ride a little firmer than a GP GT. Our struts are exclusive to the GXP or maybe the lS4 cars. I dunno. Congrats man on your 1000th post!!
