Default Coil spring upgrade

Hi quick question I want to upgrade the rear suspension on my Buick Super. Several of the guys have done Eibachs or similiar lowering springs but I will have clearance issues with my summer wheels. These are a 255/35/20. So I am thinking about just putting the factory front coil springs on the back. Same ride height just a stiffer spring rate. I already bought the factory FE4 Bilstein struts because the car has 120K on the old suspension. I am going to combine this with the w body bmr suspension. I am only doing the rear right now out of money. Thanks for your input!

What are the specs on the Gxp springs i wonder if they differ from the factory super springs. I believe both cars have the FE4 suspension.

They do but the LaCrosse Super's struts have different part numbers than the GXP's.

Here is something to think about:

The LCs,GXP,MC and IMP with the LS4 all have the same front springs... lets use the Moog P/N as an example CC670

Now the IMP and the LCs have the same rear springs P/N CC81035
and
The GXP and the MC use the same rear springs CC697

I wouldn't particularly make that assumption just because Moog issued a standard part number for all vehicles.

GM has different part numbers for ride heights and the different spring rates. The GXP definitely has unique springs, front and rear, that are not shared with any other W-body.

Yes no assumption, the idea is similarities. Each model basically has 2 spring options available (the RPO code on each vehicle will determine actual installed unit)
Keep in-mind the OP is wanting to modify so I offered a basic input.

So out of all the factory springs the gxp rear spring should be the stiffest?

I would recommend an aftermarket spring as you want to keep the height but lower the squat rate, correct! something along the line of cargo coils maybe.
Here is the specs and you can research the earlier part numbers to see if something may meet your requirements.

I happened to find this thread while searching.

I have a 05 Buick LaCrosse CXS that's my daily beater. It has an *** dragging problem. Only 74k miles but I think the stock springs are flat. I've recently replaced all 4 struts but I'm kicking myself for not doing the springs in the rear.

I've been searching Moog springs and they list the CC81035 for my application. I was wondering what the difference was between them and the CC697 for GP GXP, Intrigue etc.

A big thanks for the link Ill_Born_ss posted. From that chart, it appears the 81035 carries more load?

Part / Inside / Bar / Spring / Load / Install / Free / End / End
Number / Dia. / Dia. / Rate / / Height / Height / Type 1 / Type 1

CC697 5.42 0.562 122 680 9 15.81 PT TG

CC81035 5.4 0.562 125 740 9.5 15.42 PT TG

I'm obviously not on a handling mission, I just don't hate saggy read ends.
