Default 07/08 gxp

Hey guys so I have done some research and really am not able to locate anything. I have a 07 GXP that I DD with 140k on it and I was able to purchase a 08 GXP that was involved in a wreck. I am having throttle body issues on the DD and was going to swap the TB but found that my 07 is a 8 pin connector and the 08 is a 6 pin connector.

Is there any data on why the change? Would there be a solution?

Thanks

Pretty sure they used different pcm's, therefore the harness changed.

I'm not entirely sure, i'll do some research later if no one who knows better chimes in, but im almost sure that, you can convert it over to the 6 pin connector by ommiting 2 of the wires, which wires however im not sure. I'll see what i can find

07+ LS4s all use the e67 pcm. But for whatever reason, maybe for legacy's sake, they kept the throttle body a 8pin in 07. All LS4's 08+ use the 6 pin which is the same pinout for all newer LS's. The 8 pin can be converted to a 6 pin by following this:

ok thought u were going other way does your plug have 8 or six the part that your tb goes into on car? i have a harness that has an eight pin connecter for models before 08 which is what i have so i would have had to convert it to 6 pin so i just bought ls3 which plugs right in with 6 pin

Check out that link I posted earlier. Just buy a 6pin connector on eBay for cheap and then solder it in following that link. Will take you 15 minutes.

I checked it out and that's the plan....I was really more curious as to why they changed it and if anyone had any info.....the cars are identical
