Default Steering Wheel Interchange

Hello,

I've been curious for some time - does anyone know what it would take to interchange steering wheels from other vehicles and if there are any wiring issues?

For instance - here is the stock steering wheel in my super:

Well it looks very similar to the DTS and Lucerne steering wheel; with the exception that the Lucerne/DTS have a heated steering wheel.
Could I exchange the airbag and install this steering wheel?

Does anyone know if this would work and what I'd need to do to make the heated portion work?

Thanks!

Mike

I dont have the answer, but a heated steering wheel would be a great option. I would like to add heated mirrors to my GP, my wifes car has them and they are great in the winter. I found this cheapo kit on ebay for the mirrors, I may give it a shot. Couldnt live without the heated seats, use them daily all year round for my back. Good luck with this project, post back all findings as this is an interesting swap. Thanks

Found this steering wheel on eBay too, this looks similar as well.

Hmm I've never investigated the steering wheel off of an enclave...

My car uses a dark chestnut - finding the right colour combos has been nearly impossible

Hey guys.
I'm starting to work on this again - does anyone know if it's real wood or fake?

Also - does anyone have access to wiring diagrams inclusive of the steering wheel and clock springs for both the Lucerne/Dts and Allure/Lacrosse?

I'm trying to determine if the clock spring needs to be (or even can be) interchanged.

Thanks,

Mike
