Ls4 engine swap

I have a 2006 Monte Carlo SS that has a LS4 in it. Can it be swapped for an LS1 ?

Chevy did it on the prototype Impala before the LS4 showed up, so yes it can be done.

No it won't be practical best you can do is take the block to a machine shops to have it bored with bigger pistons to give you a true 5.7 l

Its possible but its going to cost way more than its worth. Like parkave said, 5.3s can in fact be bored to ls1 specs.

Not really what the op asked though, it can be swapped. Agreed, too much work but that is for him to decide.
