rear brake backing plates
So it's widely accepted that these parts are no longer available new... and if you want to retain your Ebrake in the GXP you need this plate intact for life.
I pulled both mine off, cleaned them up and sandblasted the rust off... but overall there is definite pitting and a bit of perforation here and there.
My question is... anyone know what the most effective way to fill the pits and perforation points?
Do I just use body filler or bondo.... sand then apply prime and paint?
Am I missing a better way to fill? I've never been down this rod before working on reconditioning half pitted metal car parts...

Search POR 15 on Amazon, this should take care of what you are looking to do if the plate isn't wasted, used it on the backing plates of a 67 GTO and they looked great. Be very careful if you use this, it will take off your skin.Good luck
SO I think the answer to what I might be looking for is a product called LAB METAL
It's an air dry product that once applied and cured supposedly is POWDER COAT friendly.
Instead of painting the backing plates I think I am going to buy a powder coating kit an do the backing plates, the ebrake parts, and a bunch of other stuff.
