Default The Check in

Hey LS4 people,
Since the gxp has been my daily i have not been around much, wondering who is still around looks like rottonj is still active.....
just getting close to 100k have a crank pulley that needs to go in, outer tie rods finally have some play, other misc nonsense.
Anyway ill be kicking around the forum... seems like many may have moved on.

Know the search function but if anyone thinks i might miss something significant or interesting give a shout.

I always appreciated the combo of creativity and technical knowledge in the ls4 forum, its never been all that mainstream.

Glad your still running the GXP, love that hood! Goes without saying but anything to help the tranny would be first(filter, cooler, extra magnets). Just turned 128k on mine, exhaust finally rotted out so I replaced it with an SLP. Going to be doing mounts soon as well as the front wheel bearing on one side, already did the other. I went with Mevotech Titan XF, these seem well made and are supposed to be heavier duty(TXF513179), time will tell. Good luck, post back your findings on the crank pully and anything that may help with the install. Stay safe.

I have not been on the forum for quite a while. I've owned my SS since 2008 but I'm getting ready to move on as well. Still like the car but I've dedicated my mechanic time to building race cars, and my son has a 6 speed 2015 Corolla he no longer wants to drive, and I can't bring myself to keep a 12 year old car with 130k and sell a 5 year old car with 40k.

Mine has had actual track day time - which is something I think most of these cars never get to see - and I have enjoyed it. My plan was to run it til it got rusty (just pressed it into winter service last year) but plans change.

I still lurk these forums in the shadows.

BIR road course, I’m out of Saint Paul, MN myself good to see local folks around!

I’ve been debateing on driving to Sauk Centre to grab some GXP brakes for my ride.

I’d love to get out to BIR one of these days just to time the 1/4 mile.

Wow, that intake looks crazy. Is that aftermarket? How fast is this thing now and what do you consider your favorite mod?

I hate to admit it but I do miss my Impala at times, it was a fun car for being a FWD V8.I’ve been looking for another to DD and keep the V for the weekends.
