2006 Impala SS Hi All I am interested in the Impala SS. I was wondering if you know what the performance numbers are stock? 1/4 times and 0-60.
Is their a substancial difference from the GP GXP and the Impy?
They basically have the same powertrain right?
I am selling my Z-28 due to my growing family and this may be the way to go for me. More room and still a car with performance.

There are considerable differences between the Impy SS and GXP. The drivetrain is the same but the GP has bigger/better brakes, wheels, tires and shocks and is approximately 100 pounds lighter.
The Pontiac also comes with StabiliTrack, Magnasteer, Traction Control, Driver Information Center, Tap-shift and Heads Up Display.
The Grand Prix is more performance oriented but the Impala makes for quite the sleeper.
The GXP does not come with a spare tire and will be more expensive when it comes to brake/tire replacement.
There is little available from the aftermarket for any of the LS4 offerings (as of yet).

Thanks I just purchased a Red Impala SS. Man this is such a nice car. This thing is more then fast enough for the average person. Being 40 and having two kids a wife and two dogs made this the best compromise. I did not fit in the GP. The interior is much tighter. I am 6'5. The Car handles very well and has a lot for excellent features.
