Default vibration - bad strut???

Not an LS4 but my wifes front wheel drive has a vibration thru the sterring wheel when I get around 70 mph. Ive put new tires on and had them rebalanced and the vib. is still there. No problem at other speeds, just 70 - 80. Could it be a bad shock or strut - the car is an Olds Alero with 90k. Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks

Could be the CV Joints or the 1/2 shafts. I'd look into that also. Strut? Not too sure about that. You would have an alignment issue for a strut to cause vibration.

Vibration at speed is usually caused by a rotating mass. The strut doesn't rotate. It just moves up and down.

I had the alignment checked also, but how could the CV joints cause that? I know your just guessing but Im not up on CV joints and axles?

they are the "driveshafts" for a front wheel drive.
