mods thus far
magnaflow mufflers
removed resonator
k&n intake kit {63 series, which does gain power all the way up}
N.O.S. wet kit
60 shot, put down 63-65 hp.
westers/tunetime ecm/tcm
wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee
working on more toys to work on this car to gain some more power before a blower, or heads and cam goes on it.

very, very nice
249 was the best of the day, but the motor pass right before the two bottle runs were 246-247hp, and 270-274 ft lbs.
torque isn't what it should be. but never the less it's over 300

damn near 100 degrees in the shop i was doing it in.
the car bone stock put down 253 hp and 274 ft lbs. it was also 70 degrees in the shop
also bone stock ran a 13.89@97 mph
couple weeks back i pulled a 13.77@103 out of it.
you don't realize how much air temps play hell with these cars till it drops 10 degree's
i'll go back and dyno it when its 60 degrees out, and do a hell of a lot better

it was making more power from 3500-4374. then it took a 10 hp dump. and followed the stock power line for a couple months back when it was 110 degrees on the dyno.
so, in conclusion, the k&n does make more power. just not in the heat!
Heat > LS4
Ive tried several things to help get some of the heat out from under the hood, but nothing really helps much. Removed the engine cover, fire shield, and the weatherstripping that seals the hood at the bottom of the windshield. Seems it cools down a tad quicker once you get moving, but now I can hear the injectors as well as a ton of engine noise as im accelerating.
I wish the a/c condensor was at the back of the car.
How well does the K&N seem to seal up against the hood and surrounding parts?

ehhh, dunno, hard to see it with the hood closed
i don't have any lines on the fire mat yet from it. then again i really don't open the hood that often to check things.
another thing id love to try is a variable resistance set up on the iat sensor. i know it can be hardset through hptuners. but i don't have that sooooooo. im stuck
dunno just an idea

Ive got a new thermistor on order to try out. Its the omega 44005 that the GTO guys swear by. It has a much faster reaction time to temperature change and is less prone to heat soak. I should be trying it out in the next few weeks.
or did you go speed density already?
Chip
Tried the speed density for ***** and giggles. Disconnected the maf sensor, lost traction control and stability control, plus the transmission went into default pressure mode. So i promptly re-connected the maf. You can fix the default pressure setting in HP Tuners, but I don't think as of now there is anyway to keep traction and stability control.
