What tire pressure do you usaully run with. any good tire pressure gauges that are better than others.
i know to look on the driver side door, but anything other than stock pressure?
I don't have one of these cars... YET... so I don't have experience with pressures in them, but about any digital guage is about as accurate as you need... There are some of the high end analog dial guages that are also VERY Good, but they aren't the $5 ones from the local store, and if you drop them on the ground once, they lose their cal.
Stick with stock for sure, try a couple PSI higher, it will probably improve your mileage a little bit. . . I haven't tried it on the SS, but on previous cars that is how it worked. Although this will hinder racing/fun ability as less pressure usually equals more power to ground
If you set it to 32 pounds cold on my car it usually raises 2-4 psi after a 5-10 minute drive, with winter coming your going to see the pressures all over the place. When it was 70 degrees at night and 100 durring the day I had the pressure set at 34-35 lbs cold at night and it would shoot up to 40 psi when it got hot durring the day. I have always used a Milton brand gauge and they have been pretty consistant and only a couple dollars more than a generic one, the generic gas station/parts store/walmart ones are always off. Never go by the one at a gas station on the air pump, had one that was off by 8 pounds one time.

I also set cold @ 36 PSI for summer / 38 PSI for winter on these cars to get to 40 PSI. 40 PSI will deliver confident handling (less roll over in corners; highway on ramps / off ramps and zig-zag maneuvers) from the sidewalls being stiffer. Ride quality is rougher, as they're not as spongy as the stock recommended 32 PSI. Remember that most factory specs are designed to appeal to the larger majority of the drivers, so us performance guys need to adjust. Handling or gas milage - higher; ride quality or drag racing - lower.
Note my MCSS's PSI system reads dead on to my tire guage. Experiment with 1 or 2 PSI at a time until your get what you want, but watch that you're not wearing out the center of the tire first, as that is a sign you may be overinflated.
