Default surge stock 07

hwy surge @ 60-80 light throttle (cruise) tac jumps 300 rpm thought it was dod but it did it without dash 4-8 switchover 900 miles on car. not bad now but its going to drive me nuts soon

My 06 MonteSS does the same thing. About 2300 miles on it now. Dealer says can't duplicate. Of course not. Anyone else?

looks like i found the surge. trans let go slips in all gears dealer has car now (3 weeks & 1020 miles) 1st gm hope this isnt the way thing are going to be dealer wants to send car to trans rebuilder this sucks new car junk rebuilt trans is this how gm handles warranty

Bullcrap on the rebuilt tranny. I would talk to the regional manager before I let them put a damn rebuilt tranny in my brand new 07 vehicle.

yeah, that'd be a big NO on a rebuilt tranny... it's under warranty... that should be getting a brand new tranny, all on GM's dime...

I certainly wouldn't let that happen with mine...

If you are running a stock tune I'd take a service manager for a ride to demo. Maybe use crusie control. That would drive me insane.

On my Monte, the rpm jump is only around 50 to 100 rpm, with the engine staying in 4 or 8 cylinder constant. It's a very small surge, but it is constantly there no matter what. This may drive me right out of this car if it is not addressed soon, as it's really irritating!

$30,000 brand new car = NEW tranny or take back the car. NO REBUILDS - Period! The money does not come out of the dealer's pocket. I'm sure if the dealer doesn't help you, a call to (800) CHEV USA will get the ball rolling.

That is a blatant defective assembly.

thanks for the info. I called gm yesterday got a claim # after telling the dealer I would take the car home before I get a rebuilt trans and not to send it to united trans. they sent it anyway. gm rep. called back & said they do not send cars to outside contractors. now it looks like I have a mess to deal with. new car rebuilt trans what a waste of time & hard earned money!
