Default Opinions Please!!

Which ones would look better on the IMPY SS. I really wanted the stockers in chrome plated but they are unavailable. I like white and chrome but am not sure about these wheels. Opinions and pic please.

I have an 06 Impala also and like the top one. I liked the chrome one GM has but way too much at 624 each.

Well, you can't go wrong with the 5 spoke, but I really like the other one.

Top one. Reminds me of the 90's SS also, and those were pretty cool. I think those will look good on it.

I had one like the top rim on my 2003 Imp (factory), I don't really like them. They look too dated, like the others said, from the 90's.

I am getting a set of Fikse rims for my Z like the bottom rims.

That rim belongs on a road racing car, but hey - my vote is #2

Why not just have a factory set chromed? Pricing to do chrome is actually pretty cheap, especially if you send them to California, where it seems like there's a chrome shop on every corner.

Not a fan of the bottom for the above quoted reason, but i think the top one is just too close a match to the 2000-2005 Impala wheels.

Anyone know where I can get the chrome plated stockers for a decent price. I got $3400 and the dealer wants $3700 out the door. I can have any wheel I want on tire rack but like the chrome stockers. Any suggestions???

Buy a set of factory take-offs on eBay and send them out to be chromed. That way you'll still have wheels on your car while you wait, swap them when you get them back from the plater, then either keep your original wheels for winter use or sell them on eBay to regain some of the money you spent.

Ummmm...iirc, he doesn't have ANY wheels on his Imp right now.

OEM wheels might be pricy. Here's a painted wheel similar to our stock wheels that is cheap and might be in your Chroming budget:

Or these Driv "Don" wheels:

Ot these DVS 793's:

Or the Helo "Glide"

Actually I got the aftermarket chrome stockers from tirerack afterall, they were just sold out from the closest wharehouse to me but they have them in Indiana. I know pretty boring but the wheels I liked best were a set of Kazeras and you cannot get wheel locks with Kazeras becuase they use a different lug nut. 2 months ago I wouldn't have given 2 craps for wheel locks but now I do (surprisingly). I was thinking of stepping it up to 19's but the only tires I could get were Max Performance summer tires and I live in New England so I didn't think that was a good idea. I really hate to be practical but I guess I was in this situation. As much as this sucks, Buffalo SS was right I did make some good cake on the deal. The stock wheels list for $652 through GM and I got mine for $150. I'd like to use the extra money to get a Predator and K&N filtercharger.

Here is the one I got!!

This is the one I liked but couldn't get wheel locks for.

Guess i wasn't too far off in what i found, huh? Didn't notice them in chrome.

Anyway...this thread makes me want to take off the locks that i have on my wheels now You definitely got PAID on the deal.

BTW...did you get any pics of the car up on blocks? Not to be mean, but i always thought i'd laugh if i saw something like that. Also, was there no damage to the vehicle other than the theft? Did they properly support the vehicle at the right places. No brake rotor damage?
Is your neighborhood THAT bad usually? I lucked out and have my neighbors driveway that they allow me to use...i can imagine something happening to my baby on the street.

Actually I was going to ask, where are the jack points on these cars?? The insurance appraiser checked out the brakes and didn't see anything notable. He told me that once I get tires on the car and get rid of the blocks, he will come back and check too see if any further damage was done. I added some jack stands for support though.

As far as the pics go, I hosted them on F150online and put them in my original thread. The only problem is that they do not show up unless I'm logged into F150online.com. If you'd like to see the picture, go to f150online.com, go to photo galleries and search for dolfan01z28. It's in one of the albums.

Gotcha.

The jack points are just behind the front wheel and just before the rear wheel, just inside the rocker panel. If you feel (or look) at the underside of the rocker you'll feel/see a small triangle pointing to a "lip" of doubled-up steel...that's the place.

Looking at the pic of your car on those "blocks", it looks like they put them in the right place. Hopefully you'll be okay.

So, what have you been driving? a rental? (Sorry if you mentioned it somewhere else and I didn't catch it.)

Hey, while the wheels are off, do yourself a favor and get a Duplicolor brake caliper paint kit. They're only like $15 and really make a difference in the appearance of the car. ($.02)
