Default How's your idle?

This question is for all you guys who have owned your LS4 for a while. My 2006 Monte SS which I purchased brand new 3,000 miles ago has developed a "shake" at idle. I'm not talking severe shakes here, but it's the kind of shake that makes the whole car quiver in short little bursts. I really would not have expected the motor to go from super-smooth when new to jumpy at 3,000 miles. I even feel it when sitting at a red light in Drive. I can watch the tach ever so slightly bounce around.

Is this simply a characteristic of LSx engines? I am perfectly aware that this is a V8, and not a honda 4-cylinder, but I'm not the only one who has noticed it while riding in the car. The LT4 in my other car is smooth as butter, all the time. I changed the oil promptly at 2,000 miles (stuck with regular for the first oil change, will switch to synthetic next time) and babied the sucker for the first 1,000 miles of its life. So what do you think?

Thanks for your input -

I have over 15k on the clock now and it is still as smooth as butter for me. I would have it looked at. I dont know what would cause it but i am sure someone will chime in for you.

nope, something doesn't sound right... make sure all plug wires are on all the way, MAF and air cleaner box is on all the way, etc etc...

If nothing found wrong, bring it back to the dealer...

My Z's LS1 shakes at a light like an old ***** in church. It has a real cam in it.

But the MCSS's LS4 is smooth. But most of the time my radio is on loud enough that I have bass interfering with the car's feedback.

I got 24K on it now, so I'll pay attention to it on the way to work today.

Mine does this as well...started a couple thousand miles ago. I REALLY noticed it when i had the poly mount in (i've since given up on that). I cleaned the MAF and it seemed to help a little, but it's still there. I have the K&N Intake, fwiw, and haven't cleaned the filter since i installed it about a year ago...that's in the plans this weekend.

Maybe I just overlooked a vacuum leak or something - I'll have to find time to root around in there again and look. I can't imagine it's anything serious, but it certainly is annoying for a brand new car.

Nothing noticed to or from work today.

Got a vibration when XM9 played the Jock Jams version of Black Box's "Strike It Up"
