The GXP started life in 2005 and will end in 2008. I had the supercharged GTP which was nice but the sound from the LS4 is simply awesome! The GXP is a major step up from the supercharged cars...better brakes, handling, suspension (Bilstein Shocks), the seats are great and the head up display is pretty cool. Get a test drive and you'll see what I mean. The only thing I don't like in NO spear tire

The Pontiac GXP's have fat beefy tires that take care of that

Even the Impalas don't have very much torqure steer. . .and the wheels are tires on both of them are huge. . . .Pontiacs have staggered wheels, impalas are all the same size.

Or you could wait a couple years and get the pontiac that puts the V8 power to the correct wheels

God i hate when people say that

I hate that too. . . for me a FWD is much more useable for those nasty months of the year. . . .

BTW, didn't you hear that the RWD sedan thing has been put on hold for GM.

Not for the G8, they still have it listed on the web site and the dealer said it will be out on time when I was down there last week.

they start getting cranky at 300 hp to the tire. below that, torque steer is managable, but still there. takes some getting used too

Yeah, the Camaro and the G8 will hit the production line, but after that...who knows when the next Imp will be designed

I have the Z28SS and the MCSS - I think the MCSS is an all around better car.

The Z puts the whipping on the Monte performance wise, but the Monte has great seats and you can drive it year round. With the SS version, I say it does 80 - 85% of what the Z will do.

Very happy with the car - I will hold onto this one and drive it a few years. Test drive the car.

I chose the Impala because it is economical, while still maitaining some fun-to-drive appeal. I will have kids in ~2 years so it was important for me to find something that allowed me to get seats/kids in and out of the backseat. After trying to climb in the backseat of the Monte once I decided something with 4 doors was a better choice. My 2 door Scion tC was easier to get in the backseat than the Monte. I also get SS in my headrests

Both the V8 cars and the SC 3800 cars are great. Personally there was a lot more potential for the 3800 (awesome aftermarket) compared to the V8. My regal runs low 12's with about 1200 bucks in parts (no headers yet either) and still pulls 33mpg on the highway. Both the grand prix and regals can be had for a nice price as well. It has 4 doors, dual climate control, tilt, cruise, heated seats everything you could want plus a factory power adder

If you do look at SC cars, the 04-05 GP's had GenV eaton blowers which were more efficient, they also had better flowing heads than the 03-back cars did. So right out of the box they came with 20+ more hp.

Did someone say the GXP started in 05? Theres quite a few 97-02 body styled GXP's here in Warsaw (IN) In fact, a teacher at my middle school ownes one and used to drive it in. Granted, they were not LS4's. But they are around.
