Cold Air Inductions users -- take off the lid!! you want more ooomph?!! want more/quicker accleration??!!! want more pull??!!! take the lid off the Cold Air Inductions cai box!!

Since the air is not getting any colder with the lid off and I very much doubt the extra restriction of the lid being on is holding the engine back that much, I am guessing that the engine is going temporarily lean and it will learn/correct that in short order. No more ooomph. Might want to take a look at your O2 numbers as well.

yeah... I'm sure the addtional air leaned things out... that's why my logs will show what I need to adjust my fueling to... but it's still an improvement/gain...

Perhaps I am wrong. That has been known to happen several hundred times a day in fact. On my LT1, removing the MAF screen would have a similar effect, leaning the car up until the PCM compensated.

yeah, but the MAF screen throws a whole bunch of stuff off, tune wise...

still gotta be better than the K&N... that one's open all over the place... at least this box is all insulated and surrounds the whole filter... and with my engine cover removed and the rear engine/hood weatherstripping taken out, the engine heat has another way to get out.

the engine heat has another way to get out
I have not taken the lid off my CAI though. I am going to have to cut a hole in the plastic or something to allow the hood to function with it.
