1st date with the track

1st date with the track Headed for the track for the first time wednesday w/ my '08 SS Impy for a 'before mods' run and I want to get the best run possible...any advice?
Also....Ive got a $500 bet with one of my technician's that I can take his MazdaSpeed3...am I stupid or confident or both?

Could be a toss up stock and may depend on who drives better. I like to have an idea before making a bet when cash is on the line, so I won't comment on your personal question. Call me cheap. C&D had that one running a 14.4 @ 99 which is close to what other mags had tested the 06/07 Imp. Get a feel for the launch before you actually race him and good hunting.

Traction Control off . or your feel the car pull side to side....How many miles you have on this new car? Not sure if taking a new car to the track is the best break-in for it. Any how just start in drive...floor it count to 1 mississippi let half way up on the gas then to the floor for the rest of your ride.

Judging by the Gator icon, you must be going to Gainesville Raceway. I'll be there on Wednesday also weather permitting. I have a black 07 Imp SS, slightly modified. See you there and good luck with your bet...lol
