Default Question about Solstice GXP.

Are these cars supposed to be fast? I was on the highway today and was behind one for a while, then he must've shifted down and punched it, he took off pretty good. I saw one at the track last month but I left before I could see what time he could run. How do our cars compare to these?

While bench testing isn't always the best way to compare cars since different drivers are gonna achieve different results, this is what Car and Driver got in their testing. Again not necessarily what everyone is gonna get, but it should give a general idea.

Automatic GXP
0-to-60-mph time: 5.2 sec
Quarter-mile time: 14.0 sec @ 98 mph

GXP with 5 speed manual
0-to-60-mph time: 5.6 sec
Quarter-mile time: 14.2 sec @ 98 mph

Just saw a review on Speed Channel, seems like a woman's car.

The Saturn is a better design, IMO.

Small sports cars are a over-the-hill compensation thing, again IMO. Hard for me to see pushing one of those things with a convertible top to the limit on a road coarse. I'll take a Corvette, Viper, Camaro or Mustang any day of the week.

Would hate to get hit in one of them.

Yea I agree that the Saturn is a better design, atleast the front end anyways IMO. I wouldn't wanna crash in one of those either.

You like puppies, eh? Was that your turn to completely go off topic, seeing that jabronie took his turn first? LOL

Anyway, i agree that the Sky looks a whole lot better. The Solstice looks like some sort of bug from the front.

Yea, I couldn't resist.

Back on topic... I'd take either one with a V8 Mallet conversion. YOWSA!!

I think the turbocharged ecotec is pretty badass. Get the computer reflashed for higher boost, and maybe a intake and catback, and you'll probably drop a second off your et.

Yeah the Ls7 solstice is cool. But honestly, have you guys ever tried to sit in one of those? If you are bigger than 5'5", stayout.....soooo tiny.

So basically you're saying that me being 6'3 would be like im sitting in a powerwheels car haha. And those Equinox sports aren't really gonna be anything special. Mainly appearance and getting the bigger engine that's already in the Saturn Vue's.

I guess my 5'5" *** would fit perfectly

I'd never own one though, just go look in the trunk to see why. You can't even fit a normal size suitcase in there, much less luggae for two people on a road trip.

People hate on the Camaro for being impractical, but I swear you can fit a ****-ton of stuff in it with the rear seat down. Lots of room for that trip with the lady who packs everything and the kitchen sink.

A friend of mine bought the Sky and with the top down, stashed away, he cannot fit a baseball bag with a couple bats, gloves, cleats and such in there.
