Imagine that...
Ya'll know I work for a Chevrolet Dealership...
So I asked the mechanics to turn off my DoD. So the mechanic comes back and says... "There is no codes for that."
"So there is, a Diablo Predator can knock it out, why cannot you guys?"
"I don't know, but let me check with GM Tech Center and see if there is a special program I can download for your car," he tells me.
"Sounds good... let me know what they say."
So off he goes and returns about 20-minutes later.
"Tech says they have a program, but they cannot issue it, because the DoD is an emission control device and it is against Federal Law."
"Really... You believe that do you?"
"No... not really, but that is the final word."
"I guess...," I tell him and off he goes.
Little do they know, all it does is force us LS4 owners to do, is go to an aftermarket.
But now for some good news:
My Parts Manager came to me and asked if I would be interested in the new GM Accessory - High Performance - Dyno-Tuned - Borla Exhaust System coming out for the LS4 - Monte Carlo SS, Impala SS, and Grand Prix GXP. With my Employee Discount it would cost $580. Hell Yes... Can you do it now? No, it will be out within the next month... YEAH!!!

I wonder why they even have a program to turn off the DOD if they can't issue it. That being said, if you really wanted it gone, you could just buy the Diablosport and turn it off that way. As for the new exhaust, it's going to be a Borla system sold right at the dealer? I'll have to keep my eye out for that.

I'll definately be keeping my eye out for that Borla system at my dealer....hmm. Will be nice getting some alternatives to the Magnaflow(not that that's a bad system, it sounds great from what I've heard) or getting a custom setup. It would be convenient being able to get it right from the dealer and installed if the price isn't too bad. Do you know what the price would be before your discount?

I was told that the new system would cost roughly $1,100 (MSRP).
Yes, it was the predator I was talking about... and yes... the mechanic got paid for making those calls for me.

Save yourself the trouble and get the HP Tuner. Not only can you disable the DOD, but you can also have TCM Support.
Sorry guys, but I just cant let up on this one. DS IS BS...!!!
