Well...a quicker shift should yield better times when all else is equal. Not to mention it will save your clutch. Our traction issues are at launch when the gear is already engaged...so no I don't think it will help there...if anything, you might notice a chirp on the 1-2 shift.

There are still no guarantees that it will chirp unless you have your TCM tuned as well. Also, how are you shifting at 60? My car shifts at 50....unless you were just estimating.

I can't imagine you'll be chirping much with the torque lost with the 3" exhaust.

Not trying to sound like a butt head but that is impossible unless you have a magic gear in there somewhere.

If you hold 1st till you get to 6k and you are at 58 then if you have been tuned and can hold 1st in D all the way up to 6k then it would also be 58.

It is mechanically impossible to have diffrent numbers like you say.

Just think you are at 6k in first either way so you have to be at the same speed.

Not really sence its a automatic transmission the fluid in the torque converter has longer to speed up. Sence he is holding it in gear i'm sure it has more time for the fluid to cetch up. Its like spinning water around in a bottle and letting it go. If you spin the bottle and let it go for a second it will only go so fast but if you let it go longer the bottle will have time to speed up. Its diffrent if its a manual then it would be a physical link. and impossible for the diffrent numbers you mention. But i don't see how hes getting this number accurately considering when i'm holding first gear it still shifts to 2nd for me automaticly

ok i chirp 2nd every time i go WOT. i have a shift kit and a tune. unless u make ur shift kit very aggressive i dont think u will chirp 2nd without a tune. and if u put an aggressive setting on ur shift kit , even when ur not WOT the shift is gonna be harsh. with how mine is set up, when i drive normal in the city, the shifts are normal and u cant even tell i have a shift kit or tune.

Do not go as firm as possible! I went medium with the shift kit in my Comp G and that is about all you need. As firm as possible will damn near rip the dash out on shifts.
