If a car can do 200mph from the factory then they must put tires on it to accommodate it. the stock RSA's are fine.

Wish this car would do 200, that would be sweet. I will drive a land vehicle over 200 mph before I die though, that is a lifelong goal of mine.

I don't know about that, anything above 130 in these things feels pretty scary. I've heard the GXP's feel better at high speeds than the Impala/Monte Carlo.

Yeah, I finally rolled in my girl's brother in law's SRT-8 Charger with a tune, K&N filter charger, full exhaust. That thing is WWWWWWWAAAAAAAAYYYYYY BAAALLLLLLLSSSSYYYY. 12.7 quarter around 600 horse as a daily friggin driver. This thing gets crazy sideways around 30 or so with cold street tires on it when you hit the fun/go fast petal. Quite an animal that thing is with full fascia front ans back and a functional ram air hood. This car would absolutely anniahlate us. All except turbo-man on here I guess. $5400 is a sweet deal for some pop out of the box. Wonder how much of that power that he is getting is usable power that translates to speed??

How do you figure 600hp???

Those things come stock w/425. How on earth is he getting 175 extra HP from an intake, exhaust and a tune???

Default 600 hp my ***

i agree corny. My friend has one with full exhaust, CAI, and a dyno tune, he laid down 385 to the wheels, so there is no way that is pushing even close to 600 at the flywheel.

600hp seems a little far fetched...no offense.

This importandy guy is a little bit off....he said the guy dropped 1.5 seconds from an intake, exhaust, and tune...running no nitrous and making 600 hp in a previous thread?

Then that is a slow SRT-8. 600 HP and only 12.7 stock ones run close to that. My GTO with 550+ flyweheel. 480 RWHP seen in some of my other threads ran a 12.2 at 119. And would have been a much lower time if I had did a better 60ft time. I ran a 2.1 to save my clutch.

my bad, I meant to say 500 or so but that is not bad for what they are right?? He paid around 36 for the thing, not much more than our cars for much more performance. Just going by what the guys tells me and I take it for what it is worth.

He's getting 75HP from I/E/T?

There's some holes in your story....

Regardless...for the extra $6k he paid, you could turbo any one of our cars and he'd no longer be "king of the road."

Last edited by BuffaloSS; 01-04-2008 at 04:44 PM. Reason: added the "k" next to the $6

Yeah, but he would have better resale and RWD...not that I need the RWD, there is a reason I chose the lower overall performance of FWD, but the resale value will more than make up for his extra costs in the long run.

and going sideways at 30? Big deal, my Caprice will do that all day long with the stall and gears and it is waaay down on torque to the big Dodge, call it 310 lb-ft at the wheels and maybe 240 horses. 500 horsepower (with attendant torque) would liquify the Dodge's tires at well over 30 MPH.

Wait a sec holes in my story????

I mean http://www.dragtimes.com/Dodge-Charg...lip-10843.html that is a bone stock SRT* running a 13.0X. As far as being able to roast tires at thirty
. No prob laying a sweet patch at thirty, didn't really push it to break tires after his point was proven in town. You guys really think that 500 is out of the picture?? OK, maybe 475- 480 then but at that we are still splitting hairs. 15 from CAI, 20 from exhaust and 25 from tune are these numbers really that far fetched?? maybe I am that far off but I didn't think his story was that flimsy.
