Default Vector Motorsports ECM/TCM

Hey guys new here. Just recently bought an 06 Monte Carlo SS. Absolutely love the car, can't wait to start modifying it. First thing I want is the Vector Motorsports ECM/TCM. But I would like to hear from anyone that has purchased one and see how much of a difference it makes. As she stands right now bone stock she runs a 14.1 @ 104.7 mph and a 0 to 60 of 5.72 sec. I think if I could get hooked up better she would run a 14.0 or maybe even a 13.9. Just wondering how much the Vector ECM/TCM will help and if it's worth the $349.95. Any info will be appreciated, thanks guys.

Have you been to the track or are you using a Dashhawk or something to figure your 1/4mi and 0-60 times

No haven't had the chance to run her down the track, they have all been closed around here due to weather. I'm using a G-tech for my times

Gotcha. I only hear good things about the VMS tune. I'd love to but can't afford at any given point to front the additional core charge, nor can I do w/o the car for a week to ship them off for programming. The majority of my big-ticket ($150+) mods are done "under the feminine radar," so a charge for $700+ would kinda stick out

Shiny gifts often work like chafe to throw off her radar. Like the real thing It’s also short lived so time it correctly or prepare to take one up the pipe.

***** or pancakes, pancakes or *****... Isnt it what it really comes down too??? LOL

Yeah, I went through a few, but when you find that one who shares alot in commin with you, its easy to get things you want, but just remember what comes around goes around so when I wanna add something to my car or buy new hockey gear, shes right there with something for her car or something else. Its really give and take, but again its fun when both of us are working on the cars and getting dirty at the sametime... Just something about a woman, all grease covered and still looking hott at the sametime... And the biggest bouns is that when I add parts to my car, she will have no problems helping me install it, but after she likes the performance or sound, then its her turn to order one. I think I look forward to installs with her more then I do other stuff.

Oh, BTW she does have a sister. . .

What YOU need to do (speaking from experience) is call vector and see how much they would tune a tcm (one you send them) for you. I'm sure that would be under $150. Then go buy a tcm at a dealership, maybe pay cash for it (they don't cost more than $100). Then send it to vector and have them tune it, maybe go extreme and have a no torque management tcm (you'll always have the stock one for daily driving), or the standard 50%ish removed. If I recall, you already have a diablow for the ecm. I think a lot of the performance is gained in the decrease in torque management anyway.

You can do the same thing with the ecm, but they are a little pricey.
