strange engine problem

strange engine problem i was on my was back from school 2d on the parkway and this kid with a turbo'd scion that i see driving around campus was behind me so i wanted to play with him a little so we take off doin bout a hundred, hes not keepin up at all, and then i let off a little to let him catch up and as he gets closer i get on it again but my car wont move, i had my foot planted to the floor and the revs went to about 4k and just chilled there car wouldnt accelerate or anything. anyone know what the problem was cuz i let off it and floored it again and the car was fine...i had this same problem when i had my car dynotuned the guy could not get the revs over 4500???

Do you have a hp tuner so you can log whats going on ?
