Default steering column clunking...my turn with this headache

Just wondering if it starts out as mild clicking as the car flexes on take off and stopping?? I noticed mine is starting to click./

Sounds like the ISS. The dealer will either lube yours or replace it, then it should be fine.

I Really thought they had the ISS issues fixed from 04-up... GUess now. When are they going to learn and fix that ******* issue. ??????

Steering shaft. Happens to most GPs and Lacrosses that I've seen. It's also common on the old body Tahoes/Yukons.

The ISS can not handle the weight of the W-body and starts to wear away. It will start to dry up and then you will hear a noise and feel something from the steering wheel when you turn it. MOst dealers would just re lube it untill 2003, when they did come out with a replacement part. I guess now they have the same problem.

My car is an 07, with only 3930 total miles on it and I do not have this issue at this time. Neither does my wifes 06 Impala SS

I didn't have mine until around 15k and i never got it fixed until 23k when it got alot worse.
Went from poping every now n again and then 7k later it poped every turn i made at low speeds.
