Just bought an 08 SS, looking to mod
Got the Military Supplier Pricing on the 72 hour 0% for 72 month sale off the show room floor! Silver/Silver all the cool options
i would like to order a CAI kit for it. Cheapest i have found is the K&N at Byunspeed for 271.00.... Anyone found one cheaper?
Also, was planning to do the Magnaflow, CAI and some aftermarket Roller Rockers. Any one make a Rocker Arm for the LS4? Should be good for some HP without a CAM swap.

Welcome, and congrats!! The K&N can be had for a bit over $200, i'll see if I can look back and find where. As for rockers Yella Terra or Harland Sharp both make 1.8 ratio for the LS4's. Happy modding.
*edit* Wow, looks like they upped their price. Cheapest I could find was on Amazon for $210. Everything else is $285. Not sure if I can post a link to it but just search for the part number.

Hey Scoob...welcome!
$271.00 is GOOD price for the K&N. I don't know if you can find it anywhere cheaper. Harland Sharps 1.8 roller rockers or Yella Terra 1.8 RR's should do the trick along with the Comp springs/pushrods (don't remember the numbers).

K and N should be slightly over 200... And get a DP, tuning helps, HP Tuners is the way to go for ultimate flexibility. 1.8 rockers are nice after your base mods. The STBs tighten up the handling and rattles.... You can spin your motor mount for a firmer feeling off the line... (Free)
Welcome,
John
P.S. Go to the muffler shop and cut off the resonator.

Roller rockers with springs 12-18hp (650-900)
3" down pipe 10hp (250-300)
Catback 10-15 (500-800)
Cold air intake/K&N 8-12hp (250-300)
Tune 15-20hp with mods. 10-15hp stock (250-350)
I dyno'd 238hp/275tq with a 3" down pipe installed, and with dyno tuning we hit 255hp/276tq. The engine was running super lean and pinging like crazy when we did the first run.
I should be around 275-280hp now with my exhaust and intake. Once I get some springs, pushrods and Rockers I'm going back to the dyno with my tuner.

I use mine more as a D/D. Damn fine for that, will past just about 95% of the cars on the road you run into.
Some guys are seeing durability issues with the trans. I've got 55K with no burnouts / mainly highway - no issues.
I pulled the horn out of the air box (free) and have a drop in K&N; Magnaflow catback, will be modding the suspension and tuning this summer. One guy hit 13.1, everyone else is mid to high 13's - in your Camaro territory. Car doesn't ride anything like a F-body, which I like it for that reason, but I wish you could get the violent launches that both the Z28SS and ZO6 deliver.
The biggest problem with the ImpSS is you can probably mod the car past the point where you stay in the seats. I'd see if you could swap the MCSS seats and console in.
I'd stick to the ZO6 for the "fun"!

Well Ashley and I ordered the Magnaflow Catback yesterday and have begun planning out our other mods. We want to show it, so we got a custom set of floor mats and are looking at dropping the Fuel Rail Cover off at a shop to have it sanded and painted custom. Im going to post up some pics today.

There is the K&N Intake, and the ColdAirInductions "CAI" (metal box). Depends on what you're looking for. Both have been covered here many times over. Same with the rockers...probably 30 threads on them.
Thanks for searching for this info, though....Thank god Taz isn't around
Oh yeah, congrats on your purchase!

I'm going to dyno mine next weekend. My car is bone stock down to the air filter, besides royal purple oil in it. I am not impressed at all with the performance in these cars. It pulls okay to about 70mph, then it goes flat after that. I have logged it with me EFI Live, and all i can see is that the tune looks terrible to me. I will post results next weekend though. Congrats on your purchase.
