Warning about ASA Wheels.
Took my car into the dealer for a couple rattles, and an oil leak. They fixed the oil leak no problem. But I was told my aftermarket ASA wheels don't fit properly on the hub. I've had these wheels on since dec. 07 no problems. Bought the wheels from tirerack a week after I bought my car. I've been an auto tech for 9 years, I checked fitment of thses wheels before I even mounted the tires. They fit perfect, so I thought. Where the hub goes through the center of the wheel isn't long enough in the actual wheel. Almost if too much of the wheel hub face was machined a little close. 1/16th of an inch. Such a small gap you might be able to slide a piece of paper between the hub and the wheel. This actually vibrated enough to back out the torx bolt that hold down the rear rotors and they were making the rattling noise I heard when I hit bumps. So I bought a set of 1/8 wheel spacers and reinstalled and torqued my wheels. Now there are no rattles and the wheels are flush. I thought my dealership was full of it, but I was wrong. Just wanted to let you all know in case your running ASA wheels. Check them out, especially if you begin to hear a rattle. Its a really small gap and I'd never thought it in a million years, but it happened. Could of been dangerous. Just figured I'd pass this on.

Thanks for reminding me that I need to still get the right hub rings for my wheels. The rings I got with the wheels don't fit inside the bore of the wheel, but they fit nicely over the hub. Either AE has their measurements wrong, or the rings I got were stamped wrong.

i have hub rings on mine also. at first i was worried about after market wheels because the gxp front wheels are bigger in the fronts. i didnt know if they would be offset. make sure when then balance them they are "road balanced". i had a terrible shimmy around 30-40 mph with the standard balancing, but its fine now.

Try them on your car and see. Its the way the wheels are machined to hold the center caps. Where it steps up in the center of the wheel. The center part of our hubs is too long for the wheel and won't let it bolt down all the way. Just because someone says it will fit doesn't mean its going to. Its more of ASA's problem, not tirerack. I just haven't contacted them.
